A big congratulations goes to Jordyn who was the first 2016 Learner of the Week for Room 13. Jordyn demonstrated her willingness and enthusiasm to help others during the first 4 days of school. It's awesome to have someone in our Room 13 whanau with such a big heart. Keep up the great work Jordyn!
Week 2's Learner of the Week went to Katalina. We've been doing swimming lessons with specialist coaches recently, and Katalina persevered with her swimming, even when the going got tough! We're really proud of her because she kept trying and didn't give up, despite it being really hard!
We have all been focusing on actively listening. This means we look at and face the person who is speaking. We listen carefully and ask the speaker questions about what they have said. Our Learner of the Week in week 3 was Hola. He received his certificate for being an active listener ALL THE TIME! He demonstrated that he can actively listen in the classroom, at assembly, in the swimming pool, in the playground... EVERYWHERE! What a fantastic achievement Hola! It's great that you can apply this skill no matter where you are!
Our Learner of the Week for week 4 was Ausage. During reading time, Ausage persevered to sound out new words. He has developed some really good strategies to help him work out unknown words and he never gave up. Great effort Ausage! Keep it up!!
We are super proud to have such amazing students in Room 13! We can't wait to see who will be our next Learner of the Week!
