Week 3's Learner of the Week went to one of May Road School's newest students... 

Abd-alrahman!

During maths, we have been focusing on Our Maths Norms. 

Adb-alrahman has demonstrated that he can already actively listen and use talk moves, in maths AND other areas of learning!

Reflecting on our first week!

Before we all left on Friday for the weekend, we had to complete a one word summary. Everyone had to come up with one word to describe the first week of their Year 4 adventure!

Learner of the Week - Emeliano!

Our first Learner of the Week for 2017 was Emeliano!

During our first week back we spent a lot of time discussing our classroom routines & expectations. Emeliano contributed heaps of positive ideas to our class discussions.

Swimming Lessons

The pool was closed for the first 2 days back, but luckily our awesome caretaker Brian managed to get it up and running for when the swimming instructors arrived! 

We are really fortunate to have awesome swimming coaches who can get in the water and work with us.

Here are some snaps from our first couple of days, learning how to swim:

Practising how to glide and kick on our fronts.

Learning how to float and kick on our backs.

Practising blowing bubbles and kicking using nice, long legs.

Our swimming instructors will be with us everyday (rain or shine!) for only 2 weeks, so it's important that we maximise this opportunity and
SWIM EVERYDAY!

Welcome to 2017!

The summer holidays have whizzed by and a new bunch of energetic Year 4 students have walked through the doors to become Room 13 students! 

They all are super keen to learn and I am stoked to be their teacher!
