EAT YOUR WORDS!

On Tuesday we went to Sanitarium's Eat Your Words in our school hall. Once we got in the the hall the Ladies for Eat your words told us to write our name on a sticker so they can remember our names.

Then they told us to sit down on the floor, Rachel told us about winter food . Then we got fruits and vegetable and a knife to make our names with. After break we learned how to make burgers with chickpeas we all had lunch together.

The burgers were YUMMY and the patties were soft and nice they were the best ever. We put the chilli sauce on the burgers it was so tasty and wonderful.

Origami

A couple of weeks ago, we worked alongside our buddy class - Room 12, to teach them how to create sailboats and foxes. We did origami which is the art of folding paper. We also learnt a little bit about Japan. Some of us can now make pelicans and ninja stars out of paper too.

It was a sunning day last week on Friday. Room 13 helped Room 12 to make origami boats and foxes out of patterned paper. Room 13 and 12 were split in half. The first half of room 13 and 12 went together and the rest were together into a group as well. Each room 13 student had to buddy up with 1 room 12 student. First, Ms Mey told us about Japan and all about origami and she told us about that Japan is the opposite season from us. Then Ms Mey showed us how to make origami boats. It was very easy to make. Then we switched to room 13 to make a origami fox.The fox was harder this time.

This week Room 13 made a Boat, Fox and a Swan. We taught Room 12 how to make it. It was the easiest thing we've ever made(in our opinion). You need to practice and practice and you will be a master. Origami helps your hand skills. You need to make sure your paper is square.

Term 2 Space Projects

Throughout term 2 we focused on the topic of The Night Sky. We learnt lots of things about space and even got to visit the Stardome. Some of us chose to share our learning through posters, some people made a book, other people made models, and some students used music to share their learning.

The Amazing Saturn

I am a fabulous gold planet with orange sparkling rings.
I’m the most amazing planet in the solar system.
Saturn is as pretty as a round diamond.
The sixth planet closest to the sun.
I take 29 years and 167 days the wonderful sun.
As big as a basketball, I’m the magnificent planet because of my huge, fantastic size.
It is easy for people from Earth to find me in the night sky.

Venus

I am the 2nd nearest planet to the Sun.
I’m the amazing planet with the the colours of dark violet and dark magenta.
I have acid poisonous purple clouds.
The Sun’s light goes into my craters and gets locked in, me getting hotter and hotter, which makes me the hottest planet of all in our wonderful solar system.
I take 225 earth days to orbit the giant star - The gold Sun.
