Book Week!

This week is book week at May Road!

Book week is one of my most favourite times of the year because I love to read! I am ALWAYS reading!

There are SO many different things to read like emails, recipes, bus timetables, magazines, comics, road signs, instructions for how to play games, song lyrics.... You might not think about it, but you're actually reading right now!!

Since I have been little, I have loved reading and listening to fairytales. One of my favourite fairytales was The Three Little Pigs. I can pretty much retell you that one off by heart! But I absolutely LOVE this version of The Three Little Pigs! It helps me to understand that there are always two sides to every story!

What is your favourite fairytale? Is it a traditional fairytale, or is it something more modern like this one?

What we know about WATER!

This year, our big topic is water. In reading, we have been discussing activating our prior knowledge. We have also been developing our digital skills.

Here's a padlet that shows you what Room 13 already know about the water cycle.

What do you know about the water cycle?

Kids Can Cook!

Kids Can Cook Kitchen

Chris Fortune visited May Road School today and showed us how to make crepes! We got to be Masterchef's and judged the food! We also explored the rainbow garden and looked carefully at all the fresh produce (fruit and vegetables) that we have growing!

You can read more about Chris visiting our school by clicking here.

Have you been inspired to cook? What did you learn from today's session?
