Book Week 2014

In Term 2, we celebrated the end of Book Week by dressing up as our favourite book characters.

Can you spot:

  • Peter Pan?
  • Little Red Riding Hood?
  • The Cat in the Hat?
  • Cinderella?

Matariki

To celebrate Matariki we worked alongside our buddy class - Room 12, to weave some flax flowers using harakeke. Here are our finished products.

Some of us even made some presentations to explain what Matariki is.

Here's Akeli's presentation:

Race Relations Day

One thing that makes May Road extra special is that we have so many students who belong to different cultures. On Race Relations Day we celebrate our differences by wearing our cultural clothes, eating cultural food and sharing our language with others.

Thanks KidsCan!

We were very lucky to receive new raincoats this year thanks to KidsCan.
They are super warm and help us keep dry.

Thanks KidsCan!!

Water slide goes up and down to the end.
As the parents squirted liquid we would slide down.
The water slide was slippery.
Enjoying the slippery soapy water slide.
Running and landing on your tummy is cool.
Sliding down on the water slide.
Lying on my back and sliding was awesome.
I would have to wait until they finished putting on the liquid.
Doing the right thing at the water slide.
Enjoying the good time.
